Since some time I have been wondering about electricity gained from wind. I’ve been watching how the wind farm is wroking and what are the good and bad things about it. One general is the price… enormouse. In Poland we are using Coal in 98% now to produce our electricity.

Could we do it in other way?

I were analyzing the way how the pizoelectric lighter is working and I have found a nice article about nano technology and the idea how to gain electricity using  from quartz nano pipe.  This idea is rather ‘micro’ format, but could we think about making some kind of plates covered milions of small nano pipes that wind is hitting and generating electricity from it?

That is idea of Eleface (Electric Surface).  Make an material that is covered with nano quartz pipes and expose it on wind. I am curiouse what would be the result of this experiment.

I need to investigate this idea further, probably meet with Nano technology geeks in Poland or abroad… do you know any of them?
